MAATS Tech's Engineering Consultancy division was established in 2010, to originally focus on offshore construction vessel design and analysis. The group has developed over the subsequent 6 years into a focused team of experienced engineers, not only in the offshore industry but also across all aspects of engineering, including, subsea, nuclear, mechanical, civil and medical.
MAATS Tech provides engineering and analysis support to the major offshore contractors, including Subsea 7, Technip, McDermott and DeepOcean. MAATS Tech have also developed close relationships with a number of world renowned shipyards including IHC in The Netherlands, Vard and Kleven in Norway and also HHI and DSME in South Korea, to carry out detailed vessel analysis including liaison with the appropriate CLASS society.
The Engineering Analysis service has also expanded to cover all sectors; including verification of new designs and extending product life. The complexity of our projects now include simulating dynamic blasts, vibration isolation and transient thermal conditions to name a few. The MAATS Tech portfolio now includes the following clients.
MAATS Tech is a dynamic consultancy, providing a valuable external resource to a broad range of engineering companies across all sectors. With access to over 20 experienced engineers we have developed an expertise in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and Engineering Design.
The core values for MAATS Tech are to understand the client needs, agree a clear specification and exceed their expectations. The approach of developing close working relationships has ensured that we retain our customers and gain new ones through an excellent reputation.
Our client base is growing all the time and we continue to push into the developing sectors of offshore and nuclear decommissioning. Through our marine projects we have gained expertise in CLASS liaison with DNV, Lloyds Register and ABS to provide assistance in gaining the appropriate certification for both vessels of all shapes and sizes and their deck equipment, which has included:
MAATS Tech can also provide assistance in the development of vessel deck equipment, both layout and working practices and detailed design. This utilises 3D software SketchUp where concepts and configurations can be clearly conveyed to the client and to assess any number of product pathways and optimisation of equipment locations including crane coverage.
New avenues of work include the medical sector where MAATS Tech has assessed a new orthopaedic implant involving complex 3D data conversion and boundary conditions. Research projects for the Rutherford Labs and National Physical Lab have demanded extremely complicated vibration and thermal simulations. Our team relished the challenge and completed the work on time and budget and was subjected to a successful third party review.
Please contact myself or a member of the MAATS Tech team if you wish to discuss potential assistance.
No project is too large or too small. We can offer either a fixed price quotation or a day rate. We look forward to hearing from you.
