MAATS specialises in turnkey cable, umbilical and flex lay systems and acts as the main contractor for design, build and installation of full deck lay solutions. MAATS has extensive experience in carousel systems having supplied over 50 carousels to more than 30 vessels.

With a decade of experience in the cable industry, five of those with MAATS. May has overseen the installation of both on and offshore cable handling spreads, comprising of carousels, tensioners, load arms and roller pathways as well as the required factory/vessel integration. Joining MAATS as a Project Manager, May successfully delivered 5 vessels before assuming her senior appointment in Dec 2016.
May holds a BEng in Electronic Engineering, is a member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers and is currently studying towards a Masters of Law.

Lisa Edwards is the Managing Director and principle owner of MAATS Tech Ltd, a marine engineering consultancy experienced in special ship and equipment design for new-build vessels or conversions in the oil and gas market as well as the renewable energy industry.
Lisa joined the company back in 2000 when it was herself and her father, the business founder John Holt, and has helped in its growth and development to its current level of 45 employees and three offices sited in Gloucester and Sunderland.
Prior to joining MAATS Lisa worked at Heathrow Airport for 20 years in cargo logistics coordination for the airlines such as Qantas, Emirates and Cathay Pacific.
Having seen the cyclical challenge that the oil and gas market goes through, the need to react and adapt has been extremely important to Lisa in order to continue the progression of the company and keep an open mind for the future.

William Gibby is the Technical Director of MAATS and leads the Engineering, Projects, Consultancy & Analysis, Service & Commissioning and Supply Chain teams ensuring high quality delivery and support of major marine engineering projects. This involves overseeing the complete project lifecycle from initial tendering to final delivery and support.
Prior to MAATS, William held senior engineering management positions in large global organisations in the Defence and O&G industries.
William is a Chartered Engineer & Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and holds a MSc in Systems Engineering Management (SEM) from UCL, London and sits on the UCL SEM Industry Advisory Board.

James is a CIMA qualified accountant with over 20 years post qualification experience. Having started in practice he has worked in industries as diverse as Heating and Plumbing, Christmas Hampers and the Recruitment sector. He brings a wealth of experience from devising foreign exchange policy and handling treasury for a listed plc to project managing the replacement of core IT systems.
He has overall responsibility for all aspects of finance for MAATS and has already overhauled our project reporting and bid processes with his extensive experience of financial modelling. James combines his financial duties with that of company secretary.

Duncan became Chairman of the Board in 2016. Prior to this, he was the Chief Executive and a major shareholder of Morse PLC, a computer company which he grew from being a small UK-based business to an international and quoted market leader. He was the Chairman and a key member of the team which built Monitise PLC, a mobile banking and payments company, from concept to a market leading position and then to its subsequent billion-pound market capitalisation. He was the Chairman of Profero, a digital advertising agency, where he was key in re-establishing the business and then selling it to Interpublic Inc.
Duncan continues to invest, chair and advise a number of companies.

Gavin Rippe is the Business Development Director at MAATS. Gavin is currently consolidating MAATS leading position in the cable lay market both in Europe as well as overseas, and has spearheaded the development of several recent innovations. He held a senior position with JDR Cable Systems, overseeing its transition from pure oil & gas to offshore wind.
Gavin graduated with a first class degree in Mechanical Engineering from Portsmouth University.
