Graduate FEA Engineer

Purpose:  To provide technical assistance on analytical projects.

Key Result Areas

  1. Constructing FEA models to simulate their operational conditions in accordance with client specifications.
  2. Analysing complex structures and assemblies to ensure they satisfy client requirements.
  3. Undertaking manual calculations to supplement the numerical analyses.
  4. Ensuring that the results are delivered on time to the appropriate quality criteria.
  5. Provide a second point of contact with clients during a project to ensure queries are closed out within the shortest possible timeframe.
  6. Quality control and internal auditing of the analytical process ensuring the project delivers the expected results to the appropriate standards.
  7. Provide support as necessary to the Principal Analysis Engineer to assist the customer.

  1. Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  2. Working knowledge of FEA techniques.
  3. Exposure to either of the following: Nastran, Abaqus and Ansys.
  4. Design and project management processes.
  5. IT literate.
  6. 2D and 3D CAD (ideally AutoCAD and NX).


  1. Understanding of stress analysis techniques.
  2. Steel fabrications and assemblies.
  3. Preparation of technical documentation.
  4. Formal calculations, both structural and mechanical.
  5. Presentation of results to the client.
  6. Working within highly pressurised environments.

Job Dimensions:  Working in a dynamic, highly focussed team to provide technical/analytical support to both the in-house design team but also to external clients in a consultancy role.
